P2 - "Birthday Cake"

Christ. Look at this thing. It looks like I traveled back in time, became an obsessive Pink Floyd fan, and then took it upon myself to craft them an album cover. Truly abominable. See if you can find the Guernica-inspired horse that had to be terminated in the graphite stage.

It's funny, because while technique-wise I went from "angry second grader" to "chilled out fourth grader", this painting is obviously less interesting than its predecessor. Also funny is that if left is male and right is female (arbitrary assignments I just made), the hand I painted is androgynous. I already have three new ideas, though, so expect more anti-art soon.

P1 - "Comely"

Not sure what I was going for here. Originally it was supposed to be some sort of creation myth gone awry, but now it's either a commentary on the Bush administration, or an homage to Karloff's The Mummy. The part on the bottom is especially heinous; random black lines aren't "texture." They just look terrible.

Final note: I resisted (intentionally) adding any erotic elements to this painting. My exposure to this blog, http://lemateurdart.wordpress.com/ (not work safe), made it difficult. Some things are overtly French in a cool way; others, in an uncomfortable way. This blog is the latter. And yet, it has a strange power over me. Terrifying.
